Before the Podcast Begins: The Five Minutes Nobody Records

We at Mopwna Cling help you increase your online presence 10x
Everyone talks about the episode. Nobody talks about what happens before it.
The mic check. The coffee going cold. The guest asking, "Kahan baithna hai?" These small moments decide how the next hour will feel.
Don't rush the setup. Sit your guest down, hand them water or chai, and let them look around. A guest who feels at home talks like they're at home. A guest who feels hurried gives you stiff answers.
Make the mic check a conversation. "Say something, any random thing." Ask what they had for breakfast. Ask about their drive. You get your audio levels, and they get comfortable hearing their own voice on headphones. Most people hate that sound at first. Give them time to get used to it.
Fix the small stuff early. Phone on silent. Fan off if it's noisy. Water within reach. Nothing kills a good answer like a buzzing phone or a sweaty room. Five minutes of fixing saves an hour of editing.
Let the candid moments happen. The best stories often come out here, before the red light. A laugh over a spilled coffee, a quick story about a bad client. Remember them. Bring them up later, on record. "Wo jo aap bata rahe the..." That one line often gets the most natural answer of the whole episode.
Don't hide the process. Tell your guest how it works. Mistakes are fine. You can stop and redo anything. Once they know there's no pressure, the pressure disappears.
You can have the best camera and the best questions, but if your guest walks in tense, the episode will feel tense.
So spend the first few minutes on people, not equipment. The recording will take care of itself.
