Behind the Scenes: Podcast Day

We at Mopwna Cling help you increase your online presence 10x
Nobody sees the first hour of a podcast shoot. That's the part we want to show you.
We pull up to the location a little early. Always. First job is a walk-through. Where's the light coming from? Where's the noise? A road outside, an AC humming, a fan in the corner. We catch these things now, because the mic will catch them later.
Then we pick the spot. A corner with soft furnishings beats a bare, echoey room every time. Curtains, sofas and bookshelves quietly soak up sound. Glass and tiles do the opposite.
Next come the cameras. We usually run two or three angles: one wide shot for the full set, and one close shot on each guest. Tripods go up, levels get checked, and lenses get wiped. We lock the focus and exposure before anyone sits down, so we aren't fixing things mid-conversation.
Audio comes next, and honestly, audio is the real hero. People forgive average video. They won't forgive bad sound. So we clip lav mics on both speakers or place them close on stands. We run a test recording, put on headphones and listen carefully for hiss, pops or any rustling clothes.
Lighting is the last piece. A soft key light on the face, a little background glow for depth, and no harsh shadows. Small tweaks make a big difference on screen.
By the time the host and guest walk in, the room feels calm and ready. They sit, we hit record, and the conversation just flows.
That's the secret. A relaxed episode is the result of a very prepared setup.
