Good Editing vs Over-Editing: Where Should Your Brand Draw the Line?
M

We at Mopwna Cling help you increase your online presence 10x

There is a difference between making a video engaging and trying too hard to make it engaging.

With so many editing trend on social media it's tempting to add more transition effect animation zoom and sound effect to every Reel.

But more editing doesn't always mean better content.

Good editing should make a video easier and more interesting to watch. Over editing can do the opposite.

Imagine watching a video where the camera zoom every second text keep appearing from different direction and every clip has a different transition. Instead of focusing on the message you're focusing on what happening on the screen.

For some type of content energetic editing work perfectly. For other it can make the brand feel inconsistent.

At Mopwna Cling we believe editing should match the personality of the business.

A premium brand may benefit from clean cut controlled movement and simple typography. A youth focused brand may have more freedom to experiment. A healthcare video may need clarity and professionalism above everything else.

The question shouldn't be "How many effects can we add?"

It should be "What does this video need?"

Sometime the best editing decision is removing something.

A pause may need to go. A transition may need to be simplified. A piece of text may need to disappear because it distract from the product.

The purpose of editing is not to prove that you can edit.

It's to make the viewer experience better.

Your brand has only a few second to communicate online. Don't fill those second with effect just because you can.

Edit with intention.

Because when the editing support the message people remember the message not the editing.
