# Is Your Business Ready for AI? A Practical Checklist

## **Is Your Business Ready for AI? A Practical Checklist**

# Everyone says "adopt AI." Nobody tells you how to know if you're ready.

Good news. You don't need to be a tech company. You just need to tick a few honest boxes.

1. Do you have a real problem to solve?

AI isn't a goal. It's a helper. Can you name one task that eats time, causes errors, or slows growth? Replying to leads, writing reports, sorting data? If yes, you have a starting point.

2. Is your data in decent shape?

AI works with what you give it. If your customer details sit in five notebooks, three WhatsApp chats, and one old Excel sheet, fix that first. Clean, organized data matters more than fancy tools.

3. Do you know your numbers?

Can you say what a lead costs you? How many enquiries turn into sales? If not, you can't tell whether AI helped. Pick two or three numbers and track them.

4. Is your team on board?

This one gets skipped. People worry AI will replace them. Talk openly. Show how it removes boring work, not jobs. A team that's scared will quietly ignore the tool.

5. Can you start small?

You don't need a big rollout. One task. One tool. One month. If it works, grow it. If not, you lost very little.

6. Is someone in charge?

AI makes mistakes. Someone needs to check the output before it reaches a customer. Decide who that is.

7. Do you know the limits?

Don't paste private customer information into any tool without checking how it's stored. A little care now saves a lot of trouble later.

How did you score?

Ticked most boxes? Start this week. Missed a few? Fix those first. That's not a delay, it's smart preparation.

Ready doesn't mean perfect. It means clear, organized, and willing to test.

Start small. Learn fast. Keep a human in charge.
